Gets quiet around here when I hibernate in the studio, doesn't it?
I just wanted to offer update info. I have finished layouts on 22 pages of Marvel Ultimate Team-Up #14 featuring Black Widow and SpiderMan, The inks and finishes (meaning the real drawing) are by Walden Wong. Then I penciled 7 pages for a Batgirl-Joker Special. Those pages are being inked by Jimmy Palmiotti. Not sure when that one is coming out- this summer I think. I've also completed my first script for Birds Of Prey and it is being drawn as we speak by Amanda Connor. I've seen some early design sketches from Amanda and they look terrific. This will be a good book.
Those three projects are the reason I lost the month of January in my SIP schedule. Somehow through out all that I managed to pencil up the pages to 47 but I was desperately late and made a huge decision to get help. For the first time ever I got someone else to ink the new issue of of 47- Jimmy Palmiotti. The pages are a little different from my style but absolutely beautiful. I'm was so relieved when I saw them for the first time because I was worried, but Jimmy came through for us. As Jimmy was inking 47 I began penciling and inking 48 plus working on the late PTOO6. At the present that is what I am doing, 48, PTOO6, plus writing Birds of Prey 49.
Here's what to look for and when in the coming months:
SIP 47: March 20
PTOO6: April 3
SIP 48: April 10
SIP 49: April 17 (it's just a reprint of Molly & Poo- you don't have to buy it)
PTOO7: May 1
SIP 50: May 15
PTOO 8: June 5
SIP 51: June 19
SIP 52: July 31
PTOO 9: Aug 7
TPB 11: Aug 7
SIP hardcover 4 (vol3): Aug 7
SIP 53: Sept. 11
SIP 2003 Calendar: Sept 18
PTOO 10: Oct. 9
SIP 54: Oct. 23
SIP 55: Dec 4
PTOO 11: Dec 11
This schedule is subject to change, but is written in permanent ink on my wall, so, it's pretty serious. Any upsets will be posted here.
Note that SIP 49 ships in between regular issue releases of 48 and 50. This Molly & Poo reprint is numbered to enable non-comic readers easier access to the issue, easier to find. If you have the original issue already you don't have to buy this one.
This schedule doesn't include Birds Of Prey or a couple of other things I'm developing for later this year. More news on those things later.
As you can see, I have my nose to the grindstone this year. I've scaled back my travel to only Chicago and San Diego this summer. The rest of the year will be spent in studio solitude, cranking out as much story as I can because I am very psyched about SIP and the point in the story I have finally gotten to. It's going to be a good year for me. I hope you all enjoy the pages.

Wahoo! In three weeks a S.I.P. flood begins. I've marked my calendar.
Thanks for the update, Terry.

Just don't kill yourself on keeping that schedule! And Jimmy Palmiotti? Wow. At least we now know for a certainty that when you find you HAVE to turn your work over to another inker you spare no expense...
Thanks Terry.

hi Terry,
First I would like to say that I have been a long time fan of all your work and have never had any complaints(any major ones anyway :-) ).
Today, I decided to subscribe to SIP for the second time because there are no conveniently close comic books shops in my area. Shortly after I paid for the subscription, I found your post stating, "SIP 49: April 17 (it's just a reprint of Molly & Poo- you don't have to buy it)". I have to admit that this is very irritating and unfair. Apparently, for subscribers, buying the reprint is not optional if it is considered as issue 49. Is there any way my subscription can skip over this, since I already own this? Money is tight. Thanks for your help and for all the entertainment you have provided over the years.

Sure, it's optional and easy. I'm making a point of saying so, so that folks like you can decide if they want it or not. Subscribers need only contact us by email and say skip this one please, and we'll do so.
Subscribers will find a note with their #48 issues that will inform them of this option.

Thanks for the update, Terry; when you pick up as few comics as I do (8 or 9 different titles, and a couple of them pop up only every now and then), it's nice to know when I have to look forward to one of my favorite titles.

Well, let me be the first to voice my extreme displeasure to find out that you will NOT be drawing MUTU #14.
I mean, hey, I understand, you are just too busy, but man I was really looking forward to seeing it. I assume they are still using you cover image, right? It'd be a shame it that piece never saw print.
Nice to hear you got a real pro to trace #47 for ya!
(JUST KIDDING JIMMY!
)
Inkers really make a big difference in the way a book turns out and I can't wait to see it.
Oh, yeah, and thanks for not bailing on Chicago this year!

I've been the Devil's Advocate for so long, he's put me on payroll.
Which poses a problem, 'cause I don't believe in him anymore than I do his counter-part.
But I still cash the checks.

I just want to confirm that you're not coming to HeroesCon in NC (as they are still advertising your being there). Thanks.
